Potato Soya Granules Masala
2-3 Servings ~ 30 Minutes
  • 2 Medium Potato - Cut to small cubes
  • 1 ½ Cup Soya Granules
  • 2 Onions - Thin Long slices
  • 2 Tomatoes - Thin Long slices
  • 2 Cloves Garlic - Crushed
  • 1 small piece ginger - grated/finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies - slit/paste
  • ½ Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ¼ Tsp Mustard Seeds (Optional)
  • ¼ Tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 3-4 Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 Tbsp Oil

Potato Soya Granules Masala


– Cook the soya granules and keep aside.
– Heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel, add mustard, cumin, fennel seeds along with green chillies, ginger, garlic and curry leaves. Allow the seeds to splutter.
– Add Onion and sauté till golden brown.
– Add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powders and sauté for a minute on medium flame.
– Add tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes till mushy.
– Squeeze water off the soya chunks and add them.
– Add potato cubes. Stir.
– Add salt and add enough water to cook the potatoes (about 1/4 cup). Cover and cook till potatoes are soft stirring occasionally around 10 minutes.
– Serve hot with Phulkas, Chapattis or Puri.

  2. yummy…tried this recipe today…I made it Dry and rolled it up as a stuffing with Chappati’s for my children’s lunch box…They loved it. Thanks…Hope others too use this as a stuffing.
