Pakoda frm Left Over Rice
3-4 Servings ~ 15-20 Minutes
  • 1 ½ Cups Leftover cooked rice
  • 1 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Flour/ A pinch of Cooking Soda
  • 1 Big Onion - Finely Chopped
  • 4-5 Curry Leaves - Finely Chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies - Paste/Finely Chopped
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Leaves - Finely Chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Pakodas from Left-Over Rice

Try this simple yet yummy dish from left over cooked rice.


– Add the cooked rice into a mixing bowl and mash it slightly.
– Now add all the other ingredients except oil and mix well.
– Sprinkle water little by little and mix into a stiff batter.
– Heat oil in a deep fry pan.
– Drop the mixture into the hot oil either with your hand or with the help of a spoon (wet spoon in water).
– Fry till golden brown.
– Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
