This is something my Sister-in-law invented…its really delicious and yummy.
Moong dal 1 Cup
Potato 1 medium- boiled & mashed
Onion 1 finely chopped
Green chilly 2 finely chopped
Curry leaves 2 Tbsp – finely chopped
Coriander leaves 4 Tbsp- finely chopped
Ginger 2 Tbsp- finely chopped
Chilly powder 2 Tsp
Coriander powder 3 Tsp
Garam masala 1Tsp
Black pepper powder ½ Tbsp
Asafoetida ½ Tsp
Chutney powder (optional) 2 Tbsp
Bread crumbs 4 slices of bread crumbs
Cumin seeds 1 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
-Soak moong dal for 4-5hrs in water & remove the water later.
-Take a bowl, add all the ingredients & mix well.
-Keep oil for deep frying.
-With the help of your palm, take the mixture & make it round shape & then slightly press it, so as to give it a vada shape.
-Slide each vada into the hot oil and fry till it is golden brown in colour.
– Serve hot with mint/coriander chutney or tomato ketchup.
