2 Medium Raw Banana/Plantain
4 Garlic Flakes
1 medium piece Ginger
2 Green chilly
4 Small onions
1 small cup Grated Coconut
2 tsp Red chilly powder
3 tsp Coriander powder
1 Dry red chilly
6-8 Curry leaves
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Channa Dal
Salt to taste
1 Tbsp+ 1/2 Tsp Oil
½ Tsp Garam Masala
Water to cook
– Peel the raw bananas with a peeler. Wash it & then chop it (medium size).
-Take a cooker; add chopped raw bananas into it along with a pinch of turmeric, salt & enough water to boil. Close the lid & leave it for 1 whistle.
-Take a pan, add ½ tsp of oil and add in the channa dal, garlic, ginger, green chillies, small onions, grated coconut, red chilly powder & coriander powder. Fry till it gives an aroma & becomes dark in colour. Cool and grind to a smooth paste using water (chutney consistency).
-In that same pan, pour in the remaining oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves & dry red chilly. Allow mustard to splutter.
-Add the grinded mixture into it & salt as per your taste. Allow to boil.
-Add boiled raw banana into it & mix well. Make sure that it should not get smashed.
-Leave it to boil a bit, then sprinkle garam masala & mix well.
-Raw banana curry is ready to serve with Rice, chapattis, Parottas or Phulkas.
Note: Banana/Plantain can be used without peeling the skin also. It tastes equally great.
