Mushroom Pepper Fry

Certain kinds of Mushrooms are high in fiber, vitamin B1, B2, B3 and Vitamin C. Mushrooms are much more than just Fungus. They are highly nutritious and they taste fantastic in the right recipe. Button mushroom are the most popular. Try this tasty recipe for a starter.


Button Mushroom 3 Cups
Cumin seeds/ Jeera 1 Tsp
Onion 1 big (finely chopped)
Garlic paste 1 Tsp
Green chillies 4-5 (finely chopped)
Black pepper powder 2 Tsp (coarsely powdered)
Curry leaves 10-12
Coriander leaves ¼ Cup (for garnish)
Oil 3 Tsp


Clean the Mushrooms & dice them into quarters. Remove the stem.
In a heavy bottom pan, heat Oil & fry the Cumin seeds for 3-4 seconds.
Add finely chopped Onion, green chillies, garlic paste & curry leaves. Stir fry on a High heat till onions turn translucent.
Add the diced Mushrooms & stir fry constantly so that it doesn’t stick to the pan.
Add Salt at the end to avoid Mushrooms from becoming soggy.
Add coarsely crushed Pepper powder & mix well for 3-4 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
