  • Peanut ½ cup
  • Green/Red Chillies 4-5
  • Curry leaves 15-20 leaves
  • Corriander 2 Tbsp
  • Citric Acid ¼ Tsp (A substitution for tamarind)
  • Mustard 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Peanut Chutney Powder

My mother is an expert in making varities of Chutney Pudi/Gun Powder. Chutney Pudi eaten with steaming hot rice and a spoonful of ghee is a great combination. I love it and always keep any one variety with me. This is something which every household in south india with an exception of Kerala use. I have never seen the mention of this word in kerala. Its called Milaga Podi in Tamil Nadu, Chutney Pudi in Karnataka and Paruppu podi /Gun Powder in Andra Pradesh.

Method:

– Grind all the ingredients except Mustard into a fine paste. In a kadai dry splutter mustard and add to the gun powder. Store in air-tight jar.
