> 3/4 cup of split skinless black gram
> 1 tsp of turmeric powder
>1 tsp of red chilly powder
> salt to taste
> 2 tbspns of ghee
> 1 3/4 tsp of cumin seeds
>2 small onions,sliced
> 2 green chillies,seeded & roughly chopped
> 2 inches pieces of ginger,cut into thin strips
> 2 tsp of garam masala powder
>2 medium tomatoes,chopped
> 2 tbsp of chopped fresh coriander leaves
> 1/4 cup of lemon juice
> 1 tsp of ginger paste
> 1 tsp of garlic paste
1.Boil the urad dal with 7 cups of water with turmeric powder,chilli powder & salt till done.Drain it & keep aside.
2.Melt half the ghee in a kadai,aa cumin seeds & saute till the color begins to change.
3.Add onions,green chillies & ginger & saute till the onions turn golden brown in color.
4.Add the cooked dal,lower heat & saute for 2 or 3 minutes.
5. Add the garam masala powder,tomatoes,coriander leaves & lemon juice & saute for 1 minute.
6.Mix the ginger paste & garlic paste with 2 tbsp of water & add to the kadai,continue to saute for 1 minute.
7.Add the remaining ghee & remove from heat.Serve hot.
