Khara Pongal

Ingredients:

> 1 cup rice
>1 cup moong dal
>10 cashewnuts
>3 chopped green chillies
>4 cups of water
>2 tbsp dry coconut flakes
>1/2 tsp turmeric powder
>1 tsp cumin seeds
>10 pepper seeds
>2 tsp of ghee
>salt

Method:

-Heat ghee in a cooker.
-Wash rice & moong dal,leave them aside.
-Saute cashewnuts in oil & leave aside.
-Add cumin & mustards seeds.
-When the seeds start crackling,add chopped green chillies & fry for few secs.
-Add dal & fry again for a minute.
-Add rice & pour water.
-Add turmeric powder,coconut & salt.
-Put the lid & cook till 4 whistles.
-Cool & add cashews,smashed pepper & chopped coriander leaves.
-Have it with coconut chutney.
